Finally got out my acrylic paints and a small canvas and messed around with a colourful sky.
Too bad I kind of suck at realistic trees, but the picture was crying out for trees. So there are trees.
Add splatter and snow splotches and voilà. Look how the color changes with the fading light.

I used to do a lot of snow scenes when we lived in the Arctic above the tree line. The only way you can make those pictures even remotely interesting is to go crazy with the sky.

I think it’s beautiful! I love the muted colours of the background. I used to mess around with watercolours, but never painted anything as wonderful as this.

Try acrylics! I think I kind of hate watercolors. They’re just really unforgiving and hard to control.

Today it is MUCH improved. I’ve kept it elevated and wrapped in a tensor bandage and walked as little as possible. I like this life. lol
