Always thought it would be fun to do a stacked coffee cup picture. It’s harder than it looks. Of course if I didn’t tend to overdo things it might have been easier, with fewer cups for instance. And I’m not a big fan of outlining in black, but in this case it helped to separate the foreground from the background.
You will never find a balancing act like this in real life.
This one is really great, I would love it on my kitchen wall!!

Funny you should say that because I was thinking the same thing. Except my kitchen is mostly blues and yellows. So I may have to do another one.

Love this idea, and also the outlining. You seem to use a lot of owls…a favorite animal or just material you have a lot of?

I do like owls, but you’re right, I was just using up some stickers left behind by grandchildren who have outgrown them. Obviously I haven’t yet. lol Also I bought an owl stamp for $16.00!!!! So you will see him making an appearance everywhere.

I love the sparkles and highlights on the cups!

It helped to brighten them up. I tend to use a lot of dark colours. Who needs moody teacups, right? 😄

Thanks! The background looks coffee stained, hey? It isn’t really, I promise.

Love it Lin! How do you do it?

When the artistic bug bites you just have to go with it. Although I’m guessing you already know that. 😄

I like the ‘form lines’ around each cup. Makes the work reminiscent of northwest coast Indian art.

If were to join you in a cup of tea or coffee, I would love to have a cup with an owl or the butterfly on it. Your designs and artwork is exquisite! You may be able to learn how to juggle the cups, ha ha!
