Urban Dictionary has this definition of a Walkabout:
“A spontaneous journey through the wilderness of one’s choosing in an effort to satisfy one’s itchy feet, a need to be elsewhere, the craving for the open road, that space over the horizon…yes… something like that… you can’t quite touch it so you have to go find it because you just know it’s there…
Huh. Not exactly the wilderness, and my feet weren’t any more itchy than usual. But I did walk. Took a picture a block from home to prove it.
This morning I decided to start torturing myself by eating oatmeal again, and then I guess I was just in a mood, and carried on by putting my shoes on and leaving the house and going down the driveway and beyond. I only do these things because it feels so good to stop.
It’s so quiet out there. I saw two mail trucks, one car, and a driveway with balloons up both sides of it. Oh, and this friendly face.
