For the big six-O I am calling this Adventures in Watercolour. Whether I will ever revisit this place is up in the air for now. This is what I accomplished by paying attention to a little watercolour tutorial and using the wet on wet technique. Up to a point, of course and then did too many embellishments, but over all I think it’s not bad. The crooked border was an impulsive afterthought. And this one I’m happy with simply because it is recognizable as an elephant. So, Happy Middle of the Week Wednesday! I’m drinking that midnight eclipse coffee again and planning on getting many, many things done. Just have to decide what. Perhaps some pseudo LSD hallucination-like wet on wet abstract watercolour blended creations. Whoa. Brace yourself.
Both paintings are beautiful. I don’t think it’s too much embellishments on the first one. The flower stands out. Nice shadows on the elephant. Careful with the coffee and have a productive day.

I love the look of other people’s washes of colour. How hard can it be, right? I’m about to find out.

I would easily hang the top picture in my home, it’s so pretty and the symmetric border works a treat. Lovely work on the elephant too, a beautiful creature but maybe not for my walls. Must get some of that coffee if the artistic results are like these.

It is GOOD stuff. Have to keep the cup a fair distance away from the paint water though….😄

Now using the coffee as a medium would be an interesting challenge! 😉

Ha, no….just the 60th piece of art I have shared here. I’m used to blending colours with my fingers using oil pastels and gelatos, so this is a whole new ball game.

The elephant is marvelous, the colors and shading and the intelligent look in the eyes. This is delightful.

Grandmalin, you look like you’ve been working with watercolors for a while. It’s hard to believe the colors on that elephant are the work of a beginner. Impressive.

I’ve been painting with acrylics for a long time, it’s the watercolour medium that is a challenge. It behaves very differently. It’s all wishy-washy. Which sounds like I should really like it. lol

I love the elephant, along with the flower with its swirly pen “frame.”
